May 30, 2009I interviewed an entrepreneur for a magazine. I thought it was going to be a pretty interesting interview based on his son’s mohawk. What kind parent does this? I couldn’t get an answer for that question because I don’t write for a parenting magazine. After talking to him, he was sane though. boo! hahaha
90 Bibles!?!?
May 19, 2009I have gotten lots of media freebies as a writer from eggs that hatch thyme to edible roses. Now, I have 90 Bibles from yesterday’s interview… this tops it all!

Yodariffic….
February 6, 2009
I have been experiencing New Year slump for unknown reasons. So, it was hard to find a cure to my mood malady without knowing its cause. Then, last Wednesday, I was invited to Cartoon Network’s media screening for their Star Wars cartoon that will have its TV broadcast on Friday the 13th at 7 p.m. I had so much fun watching Yoda speaking in his broken English and twirling around that I was actually feeling really really jolly after.
To add, they gave away lightsabers in the loot bag! Geekarific!
I guess the moral of the story is that all you need is not love but rather Yoda. May the Force be with you!

THE NEW PHILIPPINE STAR WEBSITE: IS CHANGE ALWAYS A GOOD THING?
December 5, 2008Hi
I don’t write here often because I blab my bite sized thoughts now at http://readnow.tumblr.com. However, I am back because of two things. My friend Butch emailed this blog in a yahoo group and the Philippine Star has a new site. Well… the Philippine Star’s new site turned this site and me upside down….
The Good
The Philippine Star finally gave us at Supreme a space in their site and didn’t clump us with the Modern Living section. It is also easier to find articles with an improved search engine.
The Bad
All my article links here from Phillippine Star archives were relinked. Thus, all links from the archives when clicked from my blog are now dead. Also, you need to register at Phil Star online to find them. The consolation is that most of my articles are now at http://supreme.ph.
The Ugly
The articles now have the option of translating them to Tagalog by Google Translation. The result is…..
Comprende?: Clear, Concise and Catholic (Universal) look on the family planning bill
October 24, 2008
Senator Francisco “Kit” Tatad has blog. If you want to know more about the senator or send him your thoughts about senate, you can post comments at http://franciscotatad.blogspot.com/. He is currently expressing his views on House Bill 5043, the reproductive health bill. Whether you oppose it or for it, you can comment on his blog about your own views. If more public officials blog like Senator Tatad, we can finally have an online Plaza Miranda where people can have an intelligent dialogue with the government. We hope that more senators and mayors become more transparent through online means.
Donate Books Now!:A-Book-Saya Group To Meet Abu Sayyaf Kid
October 23, 2008(FROM: www.sattisfaction.blogspot.com)
Thanks to your support, we are heading to our hometown Zamboanga City tomorrow to bring our first set of books to a remote island where the Abu Sayyaf Group is known to bring their hapless kidnap victims. The A-Book-Saya Group (ASG) will finally get to meet the children of real Abu Sayyaf members.
Your column and e-mail-brigade have convinced lots of people here and abroad to donate about 400 used books, magazines and encyclopedias which we will distribute to Muslim children in Sacol Island, Zamboanga City on October 27.
Your support to our dream of flooding Mindanao with books had shown us that there is hope in the country because there are still many good and caring Filipinos. You did not only help us get books; you helped us recover our faith in the innate goodness of ordinary Filipinos like all of us.
But please help us even more because a lot remains to be done to convince poor Muslim and Christian kids that there is better hope in picking up a book than a gun. Recent news reports from there show that not only are Mindanao children being recruited to join the ASG, the MILF and the NPA, local warlords and politicians now also tap children as young as 12 years old to be their bodyguards.

Get Ready to Tumblr!: So Fresh and So Clean, Clean
August 12, 2008Thanks to my friend Gino. I now have a blog in tumblr.com. The objective of tumblr is to make its bloggers write brief and crisp post-it style messages. The layout themes are neat and posts functions are divided into pictures, links, quotes, videos, etc. I love the concept because it brings people back to what blogs are really about which is short but sweet teasers of your life. Blogs weren’t meant to replace live chatting but should entice people to catch up and converse.
(I might stop posting here and just move to tumblr. Shh…. don’t tell the i.ph gods)
A Teacher for A Day
August 5, 2008
At the request of a friend, I gave a talk to some Entrepreneurial Management freshmen. I became a teacher for a day. I told them that…

and that

I found out that I can bore myself by giving the same lecture three times. Also, I discovered that funky baseball caps are in fashion and that my cousin Patricia is very popular with the boys. As a bonus prize, I finally had a use for my photograph of a brickwall in Guangzhou…

Great Good Guy 1: Bishop Javier Echevarria
August 2, 2008(Please read 5 Great People in 2 Weeks post first)
Yeah, I know the pictures suck because of the dim lighting. The point of the pictures is that I was able to be on stage with Bishop Javier Echevarria, Prelate of Opus Dei last Thursday afternoon. I was one of the gargoyles at the side. I was even able to hug him after. If you see the last post, I didn’t even have a picture of his SMX get together because I wasn’t expecting to be that close. Someone must be really praying for me to be a good guy.
Article for my Mentors:
Before I left for Sydney, I needed an article to meet the deadline for the next week. My problem was that I ran out of article ideas. Thus, I wrote a love letter to my mentors. Link below.

5 Great People in 2 Weeks
July 30, 2008
The thrill of journalism comes from getting to meet great people who will inspire you with their mere presence and words of wisdom. In a span of two weeks, I can’t believe I was able to see or actually interview these people. I will try to create an individual post for each of them later on. They come from various fields but the common denominator is that they are amazing. They are:
Business:
Thomas Fernandez, CEO of Pestbusters, No. 1 Pest Management Company in Singapore.
Catholic Church Leaders:
Pope Benedict XVI
Bishop Javier Echevarria, Prelate of Opus Dei
Film:
Carlo Ledesma
Government:
Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani

The Greatest teacher I never met…
July 26, 2008
Best Selling Author Author Randy Pausch passed away last July 25, 2008 due to complications from his pancreatic cancer. His book the Last Lecture was a good read and had tons of useful anecdotes that were far from preachy or cheesy. He was a teacher I wished I met in real life. Find out more about him and his journey by clicking at the link below.
May Yabang Ako!
July 10, 2008
I met the ultra hyper Yabang Pinoy peeps for an Entrepreneur Magazine two weeks ago in Figaro coffee shop. Before I knew it, I was infected by their pinoy pride and got tagged with their abacca bracelet (picture below). As a Z-list celebrity, getting the abacca baller i.d is a way of being in the company of the real yabang pinoy celebrities when they post the picture in their website.
