     The Read Now Column at Philippine Star will be taking a breather since there will be only 2 sections tomorrow.

The theme will be scareface for Halloween. So, what's frightens me? Just thinking about my cheesy past.  I started reading books because of R.L Stine and Christopher Pike when I was a 12 year old. Their horror books are what you called fast food fiction. Like junk food, their stories satisfy you with cheaps thrills by the end of each chapter but not really mentally nutritious at all.  I admittedly read them because it made me feel older since they talked about high school stuff. Yet, I realized later on that reading about adult situations doesn't make you an adult. Oh well, one day I will pick and up ones these horror cheesefest and laugh at how silly they were..
